East German rifle shooter Andreas Wolfram won three bronze medals at World Championships in 1982 and 1986. He then qualified for the 1988 Seoul Olympics where he placed eighth in the 10 metres air rifle, tenth in the 50 metres small-bore rifle three positions, and 15th in the small-bore prone event. From 1981-88 he won eight consecutive East German national titles in the air rifle event.
