West German sports shooter Kurt Hillenbrand participated both in the 1984 Los Angeles and the 1988 Seoul Summer Olympics in the small-bore rifle three positions events. At Los Angeles, he finished and unfortunate fourth and at Seoul, a disappointing 38th. At Seoul he also participated in the 50 metres event, but was less successful. His brother Walter also was a successful international rifle sports shooter.
By profession, Hillenbrand became a policeman. He then became state shooting groundsman for the Baden-Württemberg police, and a shooting trainer at the police school for 20 years.
