Fritz Krempel was the cousin of German 1936 free pistol silver medalist Erich Krempel. For Fritz, he could only finish 34th in the free pistol 50 metres at the 1952 Helsinki Games. As Germany was not allowed to participate in the Olympics after World War I, the Deutsche Kampfspiele (German Combat Games) were held in the 1920s and early 1930s, and Fritz Krempel won the free pistol event at Nuremberg in 1934 with 502 rings. He also came third at the 1939 World Championships with the German free pistol team. His remarkable sport weapon went into private ownership, and it is unknown who built the weapon.
