Biography

Three-time Olympian pistol sports shooter Hans-Jürgen Neumaier-Bauer from Germany appeared in three consecutive Olympics from 1992 but never reached an Olympic final, with a ninth place in the air pistol in 1996 being his best result. He participated in the air pistol and the free pistol events at all three Games.

At World Championships, Neumaier-Bauer won the team silver medal in 1991 and individual silver in 1998. At the Europeans, he won a gold medal in 1996, and three silvers in 1994, 1999-2000. Neumaier took the name of his wife after marriage and, after that, participated as Hans-Jürgen Bauer-Neumaier.
