Biography

Ernst Wagner-Hohenlobbese was the only German sports shooter competing at the 1908 London Games. He finished 49th in the 1,000 yard free rifle event. Although he carried an aristocratic name, there were no other results identified from him. He later refereed gymnastics at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics. Wagner-Hohenlobbese was a lieutenant of the 5th Brandenburg Infantry Regiment ‘von Stülpnagel’. He became a specialist for gynaecological diseases and obstetrics. He was married to Editha, née von Brause. Their son Joachim (1894-1958) was a general in World War II.
