Tibor Tarits won 6 individual and 41 team championships between 1931 and 1942 as a member of the as a member of the BPLE and, later, of the Elektromos clubs.
At the World Cup in Rome in 1935, he was a member of the team that won the World Championship in the military rifle 3 positions 300 m team event while finishing fourth in the individual. He also placed 4th at the Helsinki World Championships in 1937, 6th place in the military rifle, three positions event in the individual and team competition at the World Championships in Lwów in 1931 and scored many top ten finishes at World Championships throughout the late 1930s. He competed twice (1932 and 1936) at the Olympics in Small-Bore Rifle, Prone, 50 metres and only narrowly missed the top ten placings on both occasions.
He was an official of the Budapest Electric Works.
