Hans Sinniger’s father was a competitive sport shooter, and thus his son took up the sport at a young age, winning numerous distinctions at the junior level. As a senior, Hans appeared on the Swiss national podium numerous times, before finally winning his first title in 1964. He won a second title in 1965, which led to his selection for that year’s European Championships and was followed by an appearance at the World Championships in 1966. He made one appearance at the Olympics, in 1968, where he was 58th in the small-bore rifle, prone, 50 metres competition. Following his retirement from active competition, he turned to coaching.
