Gideon Eriksson attended the Technical School in Stockholm Construction Vocational School from 1888-91. He then worked as a foreman for the company Slagnusson & Johansson from 1893-95 during the construction of Royal Academy for Fine Arts. In 1895 he was approved as master builder and worked subsequently as civil engineer and stonemason. He soon became a renowned builder who constructed various blocks with workers’ housings. He was married to Tora Constantia, née Vångström. The couple had two sons and two daughters.
In Stockholm in 1912 Eriksson won bronze in the small-bore rifle, disappearing target event. In this competition he achieved 231 points, the same result as the British shooter Joseph Pepe for a joint third place. But with 12 bull’s eyes compared to Pepe’s 9, Ericsson was awarded the medal.
