Biography

Gustav was trained as a forester at the Kloten forest school in Örebro province where he later also worked as a teacher. During this period he competed in shooting for the Örebro Shooting Association. At the 1912 Olympics he participated in the running deer double shot and single shot individual events. Over the years, he served as a forester in various places including Linköping, Vimmerby, and Lidingö. In 1925 he received a US patent for a tree felling machine (“Cutting apparatus including a wire cutting member”). He got married in 1921 and had three daughters with his wife Hilma Maria (née Pihl).
