Robert Löfman joined the shooting branch of Stockholms Amatörförenings in 1900. For Stockholms Pistolklubb he competed in three events of the shooting competitions at the Stockholm Olympics with his best placing as tenth in the small-bore rifle, disappearing target.
Löfman was the son of a bookkeeper, who later became a master in a silk factory. Robert also started his professional career as a bookkeeper. During the time of the Olympics he was a wholesaler and later became a director. At the time he lived already in Kristianstad. In 1905 he married Sigrid Petrea Melene (née Davidsen) in Oslo. They had one daughter.
