Biography

Czechoslovak sports shooter Luboš Adamec specialised in the skeet event, winning medals at both the European and World Championships. Adamec won his first medal at the European Championships in 1981 with bronze in the team event. One year later he won a team gold along with an individual bronze, followed by three bronze medals in the team event at the World Championships in 1983, 1985, and 1987. A team gold at the 1988 European Championships earned Adamec a place on the Olympic team for the Seoul Games, where he tied for 27th. At the next three editions of the European Championships he won three individual silver medals, along with a team gold, and a team bronze at the 1991 World Championships. In 1992 Adamec made his second appearance at the Olympics, finishing 11th at the Barcelona Games. After retiring from the sport he became a successful coach.
