Biography

In the late 1920s Doris Thompson was one of the best breaststroke swimmers in Australia. In 1928 Thompson was the national champion in the breaststroke across all distances, and was the world record holder in the 220 yards. She swam in the 200 metres breaststroke at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics where she reached the semi-finals.
