German-born diver Gudrun Grömer competed for Germany in her youth. In 1942 and 1943 she won the German springboard championship under her birth name Hartenstein. She then moved to Austria (possibly at the end of World War II) and represented Austria at the 1948 London Olympics, where she finished fifth in the springboard event and did not finish the platform event.
