Biography

French freestyle swimmer Renée Blondeau first came to prominence when she won the school championship in 1931. Blondeau competed for Mouettes de Paris and won four consecutive national titles in the 100 metres freestyle from 1933 to 1936. Her performances earned a place on the French Olympic team for the 1936 Paris Games but she was eliminated in the heats of the 100 metres freestyle. Her sister Thérèse was also a champion swimmer who competed at the Berlin Games.
