French swimmer Véronique Jardin won 24 national titles and set 11 French records during her career. At the 1983 Mediterranean Games in Casablanca Jardin won individual silver in the 100 metres freestyle, the 100 metres backstroke, and the 200 metres backstroke, along with a team silver in the 4 × 100 metres medley relay. Jardin swam in the 4 × 100 metres freestyle relay races at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and the 1992 Barcelona Olympics where the French team finished in 8th and 11th places, respectively.
Jardin was married to Éric Gastaldello who himself was a French national swimming champion. Their daughter Béryl Gastaldello swam at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
