Biography

French swimmer Nicolas Gruson became the national champion in the 100 metres freestyle in 1995 before finishing third in the same event the following year. Gruson was part of the French quartet that reached the final of the 4 x 100 metres freestyle relay at the 1994 World Championships and the 1995 European Championships. His consistent performances earned him a place on the French swimming team for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics where he swam in the 100 metres freestyle and the freestyle and medley relays. Later the same year Gruson finished second in both the 50 and 100 metres freestyle at the French championships.
