Ronald Roberts finished fourth in the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games 4×220 yards freestyle relay (with Donald Bland, Haydn Rigby, and Peter Head) as well as fourth in the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games 3×110 yards Medley Relay (with Haydn Rigby and the non-Olympian Peter Jervis).
