Biography
All-round swimmer Grit Slaby finished an unfortunate fourth in the 400 metres individual medley at the 1980 Moskva Summer Games. She never participated in any other international meetings. Domestically, she won eight podiums, but never won an East German national title. Her father, Horst Slaby, was a former football player who won the East German Championship with BSG Chemie Leipzig in 1964.
