Backstroke swimmer Antje Stille, stepdaughter of former swimmer Ursula Küper, reached both finals at the 1976 Montréal Olympics. She placed seventh in the 100 metres and sixth in the 200 metres, respectively. From 1977-79 she won the East German nationals in the 200 metres.
After German re-unification, former East German officials admitted to administering doping to nearly all their swimmers, including Stille. She later became a dentist and ran her own dental clinic in Magdeburg.
