Konrad Enke was eliminated in the swimming heats of the 200m breaststroke at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome. One year earlier he set a European record in the 200m breaststroke in 2:38.4. Enke won 16 national titles in East Germany: After his competitive career, he became a swimming coach developing special coaching methods for children and youth swimmers.
