Biography
Birgit Lohberg-Schulz was a West German swimmer participating in the 1988 Seoul Olympics. She placed 15th in the 200 metres freestyle and tenth in both the 200 and 400 IM. At the 1987 and 1989 European Championships she won two relay bronze medals.
Domestically, Lohberg-Schulz won the 200 freestyle title in 1987, the 200 IM title in 1988, and the 400 IM in both years. Her husband was the well-known German swimming coach Michael Lohberg. The family lived for some years in Virgin Islands and Florida, when Michael Lohberg worked there.
