Biography

Uta Schütz swam three freestyle events (200, 400 and 800 m) at the 1972 München Olympics, but was eliminated in the hats of all three. However, she was more successful at the West German Championships, winning 11 titles. She won the 200 m freestyle in 1971, 400 m freestyle 1971-74, and 800 m freestyle in 1971-72, 1974. She also won the 400 m individual medley in 1973-74, and finally the 200 m butterfly in 1973.
