Aimo Heilmann was a German freestyle swimmer who won the 4x200 metres relay bronze medal at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. He also won the 200 metres B-final, placing ninth overall. At the 1997 World Short-Course Championships, Heilmann won the gold medal with the 4x100 squad.
At the German nationals, Heilmann won the 100 metres freestyle in 1999, and the 200 metres in 1996 and 1999. He was awarded the Silver Bay Leaf, Germany’s highest sports award. He later turned to volleyball. By profession, he became a bank clerk.
