Biography

Uwe Jacobsen won the West German national titles over 100m freestyle in 1960, 1961, and 1963. At the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome, he failed to reach the final, and was eliminated in the heats of the 4x100m medley relay. Four years later in Tokyo he claimed a silver medal with the 4x100m freestyle relay, and placed eighth in the final of the 100m freestyle. Jacobsen later became a longtime coach at his home club Darmstadt SW 1912.
