Roberto Lazzari was an Italian breaststroker in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Trained at Canottieri Olona and then at Canottieri Milano, he surprised everyone at the 1958 European Championships in Budapest, where he improved the Italian 200 m breaststroke record in the heats and semi-finals. He improved it again in the final with 2:41.3, which brought him a silver medal behind Soviet Leonid Kolesnikov.
At the 1960 Roma Olympic Games Lazzari repeated that feat by breaking the Italian record in his heat, semifinal and final, placing fifth overall. After retiring from competition, he stayed in swimming as a manager.
