Biography

Giuseppe Perentin was an Italian swimmer from the Istrian peninsula. While in the military he was recruited by Bologna Sportiva, although he later swam for Edera Trieste. Perentin was a distance freestyler. At the European Championships he was runner-up in 1927 and 1931 in the 1,500 freestyle, but at the 1928 and 1932 Olympics he did not qualify for a final. Domestically Perentin won Italian titles in the 400 free in 1927 and the 1,500 metre freestyle in 1927-28, 1931, 1933, and 1936.
