Jenny Kastein was a Dutch breaststroke swimmer who represented the Hollandse Dames Zwemclub in Amsterdam. Kastein won silver in the 200 metres breaststroke at the 1931 European Aquatics Championships in Paris, finishing second to Cecelia Wolstenholme. She became the Dutch champion in the event on three occasions (1933, 1935–36), and broke the world record in the 400 metres breaststroke three times during 1932 and 1933. Despite her impressive performances she was unable to compete at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics due to lack of funds from the Dutch Olympic Committee following the Great Depression. Kastein did eventually represent the Netherlands at the Olympics, finishing seventh in the 200 metres breaststroke final at the 1936 Berlin Games.
