Biography

Nils Tvedt was born on the family’s farm in Fusa, just south of Bergen, where he later settled and worked as a merchant. He was the first ever Norwegian diving champion in 1911, winning both platform and plain high diving. At the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm, he competed in plain high diving but did not advance to the final. In 1913, he won his second national championship in plain high diving.

Tvedt married Dina Ovidia Samuelsdatter Gjerde, with whom he had four daughters and two sons.
