Biography

Anwar Aziz Chaudhry was a distance freestyler who swam for Pakistan at the 1948 London Olympics but was better known in his home country for his work in the political sector. Chaudhry was a member of the National Asembly and became a federal minister. He first served as the Interior Minister of Punjab but was later named Federal Minister of Defense and then served as Federal Minister of Railways & Law. Chaudhry was considered the father of politics in Shakargarh, his home region.

Chaudhry’s son, Danial Aziz Chaudhry, followed his father into politics and served Pakistan as a member of the National Assembly and was later a Federal Minister for Privatization.
