Albert Bourdariat was a decorator and worked as an antiques dealer and expert in ornamental art. How he made his living before the German occupation is unclear. During World War II, he played an obscure role as a consultant for the export of French arts and crafts for German buyers including the Reichsbank. In the course of these activities, he was arrested for about two weeks. In 1954, Bourdariat was acquitted by the military tribunal on the charge of reconnaissance for the enemy. Nevertheless, an amount of 942,600 F was confiscated from his profits and he was fined a sum of 1,885,000 F by the Committee for the Confiscation of Illicit Profits.
Bourdariat was also a founding member of the French Boxing Federation in 1903 and its president, member of the National Sports Committee, the National Olympic Committee, and of the delegation at the 1936 Olympic Games.
