Biography

Adriano De Vecchi’s father was a long-time captain of the Trieste Hockey Club and it was from him that Adriano found his passion for the sport. Originally a player, he turned to refereeing after suffering a broken kneecap, which ended his playing career. De Vecchi eventually became a top international referee and officiated at three Olympics and in a dozen World Championships. De Vecchi also had a long career in education as either a headmaster, middle school principal, and other positions, including as a director of the regional school office.
