Antonio Scamoni was a footballer with Juventus before turning to refereeing in 1909. From then until 1925, he officiated in the top flight of Italian football, the Prima Categoria and Prima Divisione, as they were called then. Scamoni served as an international referee in 1924-25. In 1948, he received the Pioneer of the Italian football award .
