Exeter’s Harry Williams was a British Boxing Board of Control certified referee, and also a well-known boxing promoter. He was the Master of Ceremonies (MC) at many of his own promotions, which were mostly in the Devon area. In the 1930s, Williams also ran all-in wrestling shows in Exeter, and on the south coast of England. At the 1924 Paris Olympics, he was a referee and judge.
