Erik Andersson was the younger brother of his teammate Robert Andersson and also of Olympians Adolf and Selma Andersson. In 1912 Erik started as a freestyle swimmer. He later concentrated successfully on water polo, representing Sweden at the 1920 and 1924 Olympics.
