Biography

Lester Eriksson was a Swedish swimmer who represented SK Neptun in Stockholm in the 1950s and 1960s. During his career Eriksson won 17 medals at the national championships and set Swedish records in the 100, 200, and 400 metres freestyle. He swam in the 4 × 200 metres freestyle relay at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics where the Swedish team finished fifth. Two years later he won bronze in both the 4 × 100 metres and 4 × 200 metres freestyle relays at the European Aquatics Championships in Utrecht. At the 1968 Mexico City Olympics he swam in five events with a best result of eighth in the 4 × 200 metres freestyle relay. Following his swimming career Eriksson took up harness racing with horses on his own farm in Bro, Stockholm. He worked as an amateur trainer, breeder, and driver, competing in races up to 2011.
