Biography

German archer Astrid Hänschen was eliminated in the ranking round at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, and placed 43rd. With the German women’s team, she lost the first-round match against the Unified Team of the former Soviet Union. In 1999, Hänschen won a compound team bronze at the World Championships. Three years earlier, she was a member of the recurve team at the European Indoor Championships that won the gold medal.
