Biography

Ursula Westphal was on the West German volleyball squad at the 1972 München home Olympics. The team lost all their matches and placed eighth and last, which caused the team to be severely criticized. Domestically, Westphal played with 1. VC Hannover (1967-72) and helped them win West German Championships in 1968-72. She then moved to USC Münster and won West German Championships in 1974, 1977, 1980 and 1981, and also West German Cups in 1973-76 and 1979. By profession, she was a sports teacher.
