Sata Isobe was an attacker who played for the dominant Japanese women’s team in the early 1960s. She won gold with the “Witches of the Orient” at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, and also helped them win a title at the 1962 World Championships. She later married and became Mrs. Maruyama.
