Biography

Jerzy Szymczyk played volleyball for AZS AWF Warszawa and Hutnik Krakow. He played on the Polish national team from 1961-70, earning 123 caps. He won one Polish title and had five second place finishes. Szymczyk competed at the World Championships, European Championships, and at the 1968 Olympics. He later became a prominent volleyball coach, coaching Hutnik Krakow, WKS Waweł, and the Polish youth team.
