Slovak volleyball player Štefan Pipa represented ČH Bratislava in domestic competitions, in addition to playing for the Czechoslovak national team. Pipa served as the captain of ČH Bratislava, with the team winning the Czechoslovak Championship on three occasions (1978–79, 1981), along with the European Champions Cup in 1979 and the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1981. He played for Czechoslovakia from 1971 to 1980, winning silver at the 1971 European Volleyball Championships in Italy. One year later Pipa was part of the team that finished sixth at the München Olympics, before coming fifth at the 1976 Olympics in Montréal. In 1977 he won another silver with the national team when they finished as the runners-up at the Summer Universiade in Sofia. After his playing career Pipa worked as a coach, before being inducted into the Slovak Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2018.
