Adelaide Boddam-Whetham competed in the Grand National Archery Meeting for the UK National Championships on many occasions and, at the age of 62 at Cambridge in 1923, she was the championess. She was 47 when she finished 10th in the Double National Round at the 1908 London Olympics. Her career spanned almost 60 years and she helped Kent win the County Team Championship at the Grand National Meeting several times, including 1939, when she was in her 80th year. Her sons all had distinguished military careers and they received many honours, and were often mentioned in dispatches.
