Fernando Antonio Sampaio Sandoval played water polo for Brazil at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. He also helped Brazil win a silver medal at the 1967 Pan American Games. Sandoval played for Paulistano and Botafogo RJ until his 1969 retirement. He became a journalist, working in São Paulo for Istoé Magazine. Sandoval was a victim of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
