Biography

In 1983 Eric Borges was part of the Brazilian water polo team that just missed out on a medal at the Pan American Games when they placed fourth in Caracas. The following year Borges was selected to compete at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, playing in all seven matches for the team, scoring 15 goals. He then won three medals at the Pan American Games, with bronze in 1987 and 1991, along with a silver in 1995. Borges also played in the qualification tournament for the 1988 Seoul Olympics; however, Brazil finished seventh, with only the top-five teams progressing to the Games.
