By the midpoint of the decade, he was a member of the national teams for both swimming and water polo, although World War II and its aftermath limited his ability to compete internationally during his prime years.
Nonetheless, he was able to take part in the water polo tournament at the 1948 London Olympics, where Egypt was eliminated in the semi-finals and ultimately ranked seventh. By career, he served in the military and was active in military tournaments into the 1950s. Following his retirement from active competition, he worked as a coach with the national team for many years.
