Water polo player Carsten Kusch finished seventh with the German team at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Nationally, he played with Wasserfreunde Spandau 04 from 1985-98. He helped them win the German Championship 13 times in 1985-92 and 1994-98, and the German Cup ten times between 1985-99. In 1985 and 1988, they also won the European Champions Cup. Kusch was later a vice-president of Wasserfreunde Spandau 04. He was also European Champion 1989.
