Ingulf Nossek, father of Heiko Nossek was on the West German water polo team at the 1972 München Olympics. The team finished in fourth place, and he earned 125 international caps. Domestically, he played with SSV Esslingen, where he later started a coaching career. He died in 1999 due to a heart attack during a bicycle tour. By profession, he was a graduated sports teacher.
