Marco Galli was an Italian water polo practicioner who played at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. Galli made his Serie A début at 15, on 22 May 1972, under coach Tullio Pandolfini. Galli helped Italy win the 1978 World Championship in Berlin.
Galli started his club career with Civitecchia, but then moved to Pro Recco. During his club career he led Pro Recco to championships from 1982-84 and won a Champions Cup in 1983, scoring five goals in the final. He returned to Civitecchia in 1987, helping them win one league title. He played 320 Serie A matches, scoring 649 goals, and was capped 193 times with the national team, scoring 199 goals.
Sadly, Galli died at age 31 after a long illness. The city of Civitavecchia named the sports hall and the square in front of the swimming pool in his honor.
