Although Eric Yeo also competed in swimming - winning three medals at the 1961 South East Asian Peninsular (SEAP) Games - he is best known as a water polo player. His first international competition came at the 1956 Olympics. His career lasted until 1974, in which he won five titles at the SEAP Games (1965, 1967, 1969, 1971 and 1973), as well as three medals at the Asian Games. In 1995, he succeeded his former team mate Tan Eng Bock as the coach of the Singaporean water polo team. He later functioned as the vice-president for water polo with the Singapore Swimming Association.
