Daryl Cohen competed for Australia in weightlifting at the 1960 Olympics and also at the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games, where he placed seventh as a middleweight. Cohen was Australian Champion in 1958 and 1960, in the 75 kg class. His younger brother, Trevor, also won an Australian weightlifting title in 1960, at 60kg. Daryl Cohen was 1957 and 1960 Maccabi Australia Jewish Sportsman of the Year.
