This weightlifter has often been listed as Louis Bernot, who was born in 1885 and died in 1907 in Lyon, so that would not be possible for the 1920 Olympics. However, further research by French Olympic historian Stéphane Gachet confirmed that it was his brother, Léon. Léon Bernot worked as a chemist.
